The 5th stop of the 2024 SC Lowcountry season kicked off Friday night at Manning United Methodist Church where our anglers were treated to a meal of Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw and drinks. Afterwards Pastor David McManus brought a great message on putting our Faith in Jesus. Thanks to MUMC for hosting us.
Saturday morning dawned clear and cool after the passage of some pretty strong storms on Friday evening as our anglers left the dock in search of the Big Bags Santee is known for. Santee and our anglers did not disappoint as 3 bags were weighed over 28 lbs.
Taking the win and proving that age is just a number was the team of Lex Costas and Ben Lee who dropped 30.39 lbs on the scales including the days Big Bass a 8.60 lb Brute. They took home over $3600
Finishing a strong 2nd was the always tough team of Mike Watson and Craig McFadden who tightened their grip on the Points lead by bringing 28.87 lbs to the scales winning them over $1900
Coming in 3rd was the team of Bryan Cook and Steve Harmon who brought 28.20 lbs to the scales earning them over $1100
4th Place went to the team of Todd Olds and Brian Maxwell whose limit tipped the scales to 22.12 lbs
Rounding out the top 5 was the team of Chris and Shane Hawkins who brought a limit weighing 21.39 lbs
Watson and McFadden took home the Dynamic Marine $250 Bonus for the highest placing team attending the Friday night meeting and Bernie Dreher and Brandon Stacey claimed the Dynamic Marine $250 Bonus for the Highest placing team who have purchased a boat from Dynamic Marine.
